Update on the Swedish Houses Redevelopment

The Parish Council has returned a response to the proposed redevelopment of the site of the Swedish Houses on The Avenue in Stinchcombe. This can be viewed here.
November 2025
Stroud District Council (SDC) representatives held a briefing meeting on the
Swedish Houses redevelopment with the PC earlier this week. SDC shared an up-
date which in essence remains unchanged from our post a couple of weeks ago,
with 17 dwellings proposed for the site and the intention to move to full planning
application in the New Year.
On 10th December SDC will be available for consultation with Village residents
using a ‘drop-in’ format between 4-7pm in the Village Hall. During this you will be
able to chat to SDC representatives and share your views. We have asked SDC to
write to each household to confirm details.
In advance of this meeting the PC would like to provide an opportunity for
residents to express their views as a group and to consider what feedback might
need to be given to SDC at their 10th December meeting. A good opportunity for
us to do this is at our Christmas Meet and Greet when we are looking forward to
sharing a glass of wine and a mince pie and having a chat with you (see details
below).
So the plan for the evening of the 4th will be our social from 6pm, with a short up-
date on this year’s PC activities and then open a discussion on the Swedish Houses
at which you are welcome to share your views. The plans of the proposed
development will be on display for you to see.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on Thursday next week and look
forward to a relaxed chat and drink as well as an informative discussion.
